Car washes in the United States come in four main formats: the express tunnel, where you stay in the car while a conveyor pulls it through brushes or high-pressure jets; the full-service wash, where attendants vacuum and wipe down the interior after the tunnel; the self-service bay with a coin or card-operated pressure wand, foam brush and vacuums; and the hand wash, where a crew washes and dries the car by hand. Touchless tunnels skip the cloth brushes entirely and rely on chemicals and water pressure, which is gentler on paint but less effective on heavy grime. Most express chains sell an unlimited monthly plan, usually priced at two to three single washes, that is only worth it if you wash more than twice a month. Gas stations often bundle a discounted wash with a fill-up.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are Open 24 hours. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Neighborhood Wash at (423) 899-2878; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

This is by far one of the best self-service car washes I’ve used. The bays were very clean, and all of the hoses were in great condition with no annoying kinks while washing. They offered multiple wash options, including tire cleaner, regular wash soap, and a wax for the final rinse. Everything worked exactly as it should, and the experience was quick and hassle-free. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality car wash.

This is the cleanest hand car wash that I have ever been to. They also have a touchless car wash you can drive through. To start hand car wash it’s $3.00 and you can add more time. I highly recommend this car wash if you are in Chattanooga.

I cannot recommend this car wash enough! I recently went in to give my vehicle a full treatment—Tri-Foam polish, conditioner, and wax—and I ended up having the best experience I’ve ever had at a self-service wash. I accidentally pulled into the only bay without a built-in blow dryer. Just as I was finishing up, the owners pulled up. When I asked about the dryer, they were incredibly kind—they realized I was in the "wrong" spot for that feature and immediately offered to let me use the dryer in the next bay over for free! They let me take all the time I needed to make sure my car was perfectly dry. To top it off, when I went to the self-service vending area to buy a towel for my paint, the owner stopped me. He took the time to explain that the towel I was looking at was better suited for windows and the interior, and he personally handed me a high-quality cloth that was safe for the exterior paint. Why you should come here: Honesty: They won't let you use the wrong product on your car just to make a buck. Generosity: They went above and beyond to fix my mistake with the dryer. Quality: The Tri-Foam and wax products left my car looking incredible. If you want a place that act

The sprayer ate the paint off of my SUV. I called the number and the owner said the bays on the right are stronger sprayers. He said that information is posted somewhere, but I never saw signs saying I was using a stronger bay. Why would anyone need a sprayer that is so strong it will eat the paint off your car? I found pics on Apple Maps for this car wash from 2023 where it did the same thing to someone’s gray SUV.
